Home Treatment to Relief Itching

Tips To Relief Sun Poising Itching

Sun poisoning is an informal term used to refer to skin allergies caused by the overexposure to sunlight. Fair skinned people are more vulnerable to sun poisoning than their darker counterparts. The symptoms may vary from person to person in nature and intensity, depending on the sensitivity of the individual’s skin to sunlight.

The best way of preventing sun poisoning is of course to protect your skin from direct exposure to sunlight. Always apply a sunscreen lotion that suits your skin type before stepping out of doors. It is also useful to carry an umbrella for better protection from the harsh rays of the sun. Drinking plenty of water and other cooling fluids such as fruit juices is an effective way of keeping your skin naturally well moisturized and avoiding sun poisoning.

You should also take regular baths in cold water to soothe your skin, especially in the hot summer season. It is always better to dab your skin with a soft cotton towel to soak up perspiration instead of wiping it away with your palm, as this avoids injury to the skin that is already in a delicate state. It is also beneficial to apply cold compresses to skin that has become irritated or inflamed due to exposure to sunlight. A few cubes of ice wrapped up in a soft towel or a piece of cotton cloth soaked in chilled water serves the purpose quite well.

This hydrates and soothes the skin, and relives the itching, burning sensation. Topical application of aloevera (lidah buaya) juice or gel is also another popular way of treating skin that has been exposed to sunlight. You may also apply a little calamine lotion on the affected areas in order to get instant relief from itching and irritation. Washing the affected area with a solution of some apple cider vinegar and water is also helpful in treating mild sunburns and allergies. The juice of a cucumber may also be applied on the skin in order to produce a cooling sensation. Placing a few thin slices of a raw potato also has similar effects on the skin.

For another remedy, soak a ball of cotton wool in some chilled milk and wipe the skin with this for around 5-10 minutes. Alternatively, you could also gently massage some yogurt into your skin. This moisturizes the skin naturally and helps heal damaged skin cells. A cod liver oil massage also helps treat sun poisoning.
